Mold laser quenching repair

1. Mold laser quenching repair equipment cladding process:

laser cladding can be roughly divided into two categories according to the supply of cladding materials, namely, preset laser cladding and synchronous laser cladding.

Pre-positioned laser cladding is to place the cladding material on the cladding part of the substrate surface in advance, and then use laser beam irradiation to scan and melt. The cladding material is added in the form of powder, wire, and plate, of which the powder is the most commonly used.

Synchronous laser cladding is to send the cladding material directly into the laser beam so that the material supply and cladding are completed at the same time. The cladding material is also mainly fed in the form of powder, and some also use wire or plate for simultaneous feeding.

The main process of:preset laser cladding is substrate cladding surface pretreatment --- preset cladding material --- preheating --- laser melting --- post heat treatment.

The main process of:synchronous laser cladding is surface pretreatment of substrate cladding---feeding laser melting---post heat treatment.

According to the process flow, the processes related to laser cladding are mainly the surface pretreatment method of the substrate, the feeding method of the cladding material, preheating, and post-heat treatment.


2. Mold laser quenching and repairing equipment:

Traditional solid-state lasers are usually pumped by high-power gas discharge lamps, and the pumping efficiency is about 3% to 6%. The large amount of energy emitted by the pump lamp is converted into heat energy, which not only causes the solid-state laser to adopt a bulky cooling system but also causes the inevitable thermal lens effect of the working material to deteriorate the beam quality. Besides, the life of the pump lamp is about 400 hours, and the operator needs to spend a lot of time frequently changing the lamp, interrupting the work of the system, and greatly reducing the efficiency of the automated production line. Compared with traditional lamp-pumped lasers, diode-pumped solid-state lasers have the following advantages:

(1) High conversion efficiency: Because the emission wavelength of the semiconductor laser coincides with the absorption peak of the solid-state laser working material, and the pump light mode can be well-matched with the laser oscillation mode, the light-to-light conversion efficiency is very high, reaching above 50%, the efficiency of the whole machine is comparable to that of a carbon dioxide laser, which is an order of magnitude higher than that of a lamp-pumped solid-state laser. Therefore, the diode-pumped laser is small in size, light in weight, and compact in structure.

(2) Reliable performance and long life: The life of the laser diode is much longer than that of the flash lamp, up to 15000 hours, the energy stability of the pump light is good, which is an order of magnitude better than the flash lamp pump, the performance is reliable, and it is a fully cured device so far. The maintenance-free laser is especially suitable for large-scale production lines.

(3) Good output beam quality: Due to the high conversion efficiency of the diode-pumped laser, the thermal lens effect of the laser working material is reduced, and the output beam quality of the laser is greatly improved, and the laser beam quality is close to the limit.


3. Working principle of laser for mold laser quenching repair equipment:

Laser selection: CO2 lasers and solid-state lasers are widely used at present.

The CO2 laser is the most widely used and most diverse type of laser. It is widely used in the automobile industry, steel industry, shipbuilding industry, aviation and aerospace industry, electrical machinery industry, machinery industry, metallurgical industry, metal processing, and other fields. It accounts for about 40% of global industrial laser sales, and even as much as 70% in North America.

a. High power. The CO2 laser is currently one of the lasers whose output power reaches the highest level, and its maximum continuous output power can reach hundreds of thousands of watts

b. High efficiency. The photoelectric conversion rate can reach more than 30%, which is much higher than other processing lasers

c. High beam quality. Good mode, good coherence, narrow linewidth, stable work.
